Beach and Dune Restoration
East Grace Bay Beach Nourishment Project
Erickson Consulting Engineers, Inc. (ECE) completed the final beach restoration plans and design for a one-mile beach nourishment project and five T-head Groins. Phase 1 of the project was completed in February 2008 and resulted in the placement of 170,000 CY of Beachfill and one T-Head Groin. Phase 2 is planned for construction in 2009 based on the performance analysis and findings of the Post-Construction Monitoring.
Pelican Point Beach Restoration
Erickson Consulting Engineers, Inc. (ECE) provided continuing coastal engineering services to restore the severely eroded shoreline surrounding Pelican Point, Providenciales, TCI. The final beach restoration plans and design for a 0.5-mile beach nourishment project were complete in 2006. Phase 1 of the project was completed in February 2008 and resulted in the placement of 68,000 CY of Beachfill and one T-Head Groin.
Water Cay Resort Marina & Resort Development Project
Erickson Consulting Engineers, Inc. (ECE) performed the engineering and permitting for the Water Cay Resort Marina and Beach Developments Project. This project includes three oceanfront T-head groynes and a 240,000 cubic yard oceanfront beach restoration, a marina beach with associated coastal structures (three groynes, a pier, and a bulkhead), bungalow beach fill and piers, canal to provide a tidal connection to mangroves, a boat access channel, a channel between the interior canal and marina access channel, and dune enhancements. Phase 1 of the project which includes the terminal oceanfront groyne and a 60,000 cubic yard beach restoration is scheduled to commence construction in May 2009 with Phase 2 scheduled to follow within one year.
Dellis Cay Beach Nourishment Project
Erickson Consulting Engineers (ECE) is contracted to provide design, permitting and contract administration services for a Beach Restoration Project at Dellis Cay.
Emerald Beach Nourishment Project
Erickson Consulting Engineers, Inc. (ECE) provided coastal engineering services to restore the highly eroded shoreline at Emerald Beach and a new inlet channel constructed to provide boat access for sport and commercial fishing.
Town of Palm Beach – Beach Restoration Project
Ms. Erickson, P.E. served as the Engineer of Record in 1994 – 1995 for Mid-Town Beach Restoration Project. Ms. Erickson was responsible for managing the planning, design development, obtaining State and Federal permitting and construction administration services for the construction of a one-mile 900,000 beach nourishment and 11 groin coastal structures. She also assisted in the development of the Town’s Beach Preservation Plan for the Town’s critically eroding Atlantic Ocean beaches.
Longboat Key Beach Nourishment
Ms. Erickson, as the Project Manager and Engineer-of-Record was responsible for the design, engineering and financing project elements of a 10-mile beach nourishment project at Longboat Key. Ms. Erickson served as the Project Manager from 1987 to 1995 while working at ATM and was responsible for the design and engineering, evaluation of beach nourishment design alternatives; economic analyses and project funds acquisition, permitting, preparation of contract documents and construction management services.
Casey Key Emergency Dune Reconstruction
Erickson Consulting Engineers, Inc., (ECE) is responsible for managing all design, permitting, engineering, and construction of a “fast-track” emergency dune reconstruction project along 900 linear ft of shoreline to provide protection to upland property from imminent storm damage. Following reconstruction of the dune, efforts commenced to evaluate long-term solutions to the erosion problem.
Martin County 4-Mile Beach Nourishment Project
Ms. Erickson served as the Project Director and the Project’s Engineer-of-Record on this 4-mile Beach Nourishment Project. She was responsible for coordination with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the development of a 4-Mile Beach Restoration Project design and engineering, and acquiring all necessary construction permits and performing all environmental and engineering studies for the construction.
Indian River County Beach Preservation Plan
Ms. Erickson was responsible for the formulation of a financing plan in restoration of five beach segments (8.3 miles) along the County’s critically eroding Atlantic Ocean beaches. Ms. Erickson served as the Project Director of the Beach Restoration Project’s located in Sectors 1 and 7.
Third Turtle
Erickson Consulting Engineers, Inc. (ECE) planned and designed the beach restoration and enhancement project to restore the severely eroded beaches fronting the Atlantic Ocean by conducting a detailed bathymetric survey of the beaches and the interior marina basin, and develop a hydrodynamic model of Turtle Cove basin to determine the environmental impacts of changing the waterfront basin boundaries at the development site.
Cap Juluca Resort Beach Erosion Management
Ms. Erickson, as the Project Manager conducted the coastal processes investigation and developed a design for solutions to resort’s beach erosion problems. In 1995 hurricane Luis traveled across the Island of Anguilla resulting in severe damage to the beaches including those at Cap Juluca.
Providenciales Comprehensive Beach Management Plan
Erickson Consulting Engineers, Inc. (ECE) was commissioned to develop a Comprehensive Beach Management Plan which would provide a description and inventory of the present conditions of the beaches and nearshore areas fronting the coastline from Ocean Club to the boundary of the Emerald Beach project.
St Lucia Coastal Improvements
Erickson Consulting Engineers (ECE) is contracted to provide coastal engineering planning, design, and permitting services for the Resort Development located on the island of St. Lucia. ECE has developed a design to improve the rocky, shoreline to support the required recreational uses and beachfront amenities necessary for such a luxury resort destination resort.
